| I was assigned to photograph Grace Jones for the fashion section of the Times as she was passing through Los Angeles in 1984. Notorious for not being a morning person, i had been forwarned that Ms. Jones' availability was limited, and that i should make sure to be at her hotel on time, bright and early. It was to my delight that she requested not to be photographed before 4 PM. I had met Grace briefly a decade or so ago in Paris when she was the first black beauty to 'grace' the cover of a French fashion magazine, and i remembered her having a big laugh and a big heart. It was of no surprise to me that she had become such a sensation. I reminded her of our encounter years ago, and she treated me like a long lost sister. Gorgeous Grace, she's a Diva Deluxe---gorgeous both inside and out.
